• Churchcare, the Church of England website, offers step by step guides to altering a building, developing a building, and conserving church contents. Most of the information is relevent to all denominations.
• The business plan template  lists the key factors that you will need to consider when starting a large project.

Adapting churches for wider community use
 

• The Diocese of Hereford website has an excellent Toolkit , which takes churches through the whole process of opening up their church for wider community use  The Toolkit is helpfully broken down into sections so no one has to download the whole Toolkit in one go.
• The Church Commissioners have produced a guide to auditing a church building.
• The Methodists, also have a large amount of information on their national website.

Locally: It is also a good idea to look at your local Community Plan, if there is one for your area, at the beginning of the process.
