Volunteer

The Churches Trust for Cumbria is keen to appoint people to help build our dynamic organisation and assist Cumbria’s many faith communities in maintaining and developing their buildings. We welcome people from all backgrounds to join our volunteer team who will receive support and appropriate training.  We will also cover expenses incurred in their volunteer role.

Honorary Treasurer

To assist the Director with financial matters. See here for details (pdf)

Community Links

To actively promote the work of CTfC to churches and faith buildings within a given locality; making contact with the relevant people, assessing the specific needs of churches and encouraging them to access the CTfC website. Knowledge of church buildings is not required.  See here for details (pdf).

Ride and Stride

To help promote participation in this annual event at a local level (local organisers) and a Ride and Stride Coordinator to help organise and promote the event at county level. Ride and Stride serves two important purposes. Firstly it's an easy way for churches to raise funds by encouraging local members to take part. All forms and guidance are provided by CTfC. Secondly it's a wonderful way of raising the profile of our churches and chapels, rural and urban, by encouraging new people to walk and cycle to them in one day. And its fun!  Click here for details (pdf).

Photographers

To take digital photographs of Cumbria’s places of worship, contributing to a complete online collection of every church in the county.

Legal advisor

We are looking for a legal professional to provide clear advice on leaving a legacy to CTfC before it is published on our website.

Our volunteer agreement form outlines what you can expect to get out of volunteering with CTfC and what we expect from our volunteers (pdf)
