The responsibility for funding and organising the maintenance of a church rests with the local congregation.  Funding from government and national church bodies is very limited.  Many historic churches must therefore rely on the generosity of others.

There are many ways in which you can support churches and faith buildings in Cumbria:

• by contributing your valuable time and skills to the work of the Churches Trust for Cumbria
  
• by donating money, via various methods, to the Trust  

Of course, you may also want to become involved in the work going on in your local church community if you are not already.
