'Sense of Place' is a proposed project that it is hoped will be funded through the European Regional Development Programme.

A multi-agency partnership in Cumbria comprising of Action for Communities in Cumbria, the North West Multi Faith Tourism Association, the Churches Trust for Cumbria and others, is submitting a bid for funding to developing a ‘Sense of Place’ in three locations in the Fells and Dales.  The aim is to celebrate the depth of knowledge and individuality of those areas and enable them  to contribute to the local economy and increase the sustainability of local communities.  The adaptation and renovation of existing faith buildings in those communities to widen their scope for use by the social and economic communities, thereby helping to preserve historic buildings is key to the bid.  This information will be updated as the project develops.
