Churches Tourism Association The Churches Tourism Association (CTA) is England’s leading body for faith heritage tourism, a charity representing churches, individuals and organisations dedicated to enhancing the experience of those who visit churches.
For general information, national updates, and how to become a member organisation, for which there is an annual fee, visit their website at www.churchestourism.info.
The CTA provides a wealth of useful information for individual churches. The resources section of the website is dedicated to the sharing of advice, examples and good practice for churches seeking to develop their visitor welcome, developing websites, trails, heritage interpretation, events, art and much more.
Sacred Britain The Sacred Britain ‘Agenda for Action’ was launched at the Churches Tourism Association Convention in November 2006. It aims to make churches and places of worship a ‘must see’ part of exploring Britain’s destinations. To realise this vision, the Agenda sets out priorities for action over the next three years. For details of the strategy see the Churches Tourism Association website
