Local Strategic Partnership

The District Council is a key player in the Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) which is an umbrella organisation or network of all the key statutory players in any district, together with the voluntary and private sectors.  The Strategic Partnership draws up a sustainable community plan, which should be the expression of local people’s aspirations for the future, and the response of the major organisations in how they will achieve this.  These then get drafted into Local Area Agreements with very specific targets but there is no need to become familiar with this level of detail.

Each district has a ‘partnership officer’ who can provide you with links or further information.   Churches Together in Cumbria (CTiC) have ensured that the faith community is represented on the district level partnerships, and in some cases the CTiC representative chairs the partnership.  Contact details for these faith representatives are available from Churches Together in Cumbria.
