Funding directories

In Cumbria there are a number of organisations that support groups seeking funding.   This may include personal advice and/or providing access to funding directories which are not freely available because they expensive to keep up to date. Cumbria Council for Voluntary services (CVS) offers Funderfinder which you can access from your local CVS office.

The Directory for Social Change (DSC) publishes funding directories covering the major grant making trusts. These are expensive to purchase but are usually available in local libraries, or at Church House in Carlisle.

Some district Councils also offer help. For example, Allerdale District Council provides free registration for community groups to GrantNet which allows you to searches for potential funders online according to your criteria. You simply need an Allerdale postcode to register.

Grants Online is another funding directory which you can access from home over the internet. It offers a 7 day free trial.

Cumbria Wildlife Trust have produced a guide to funding sources for projects in church grounds which you can access online.
