Ride and Stride
Forms are now ready for Ride and Stride 2010, Saturday 11th September.
Are you now prepared to be a local organiser? What is the Local Organiser's role?
To promote participation in the Ride and Stride event! Local organisers promote the event in their own church, and where possible with other local churches (until we have a local organiser in every place of worship!) This is what we are asking you to do:
Encourage participants to take part
- Being enthusiastic about the event and the local churches that can be visited in a ‘day out with a difference' -people finding out about their local places of worship.
- Putting up posters and making sponsor forms available: We will send you a printed batch of posters, sponsor forms and sign-in sheets. If you run out we will send you more or you can print more off from our website. Posters have a space for you to put your details if you wish.
- See the Website.
- Contact rideandstride@ctfc.org.uk.
- Postal address for more forms Jill Richardson, Ride and Stride, the Churches Trust for Cumbria c/o Church House, West Walls, Carlisle CA3 8UE
Encouraging churches to be open
- Asking churches to be open from 10 am - 6pm, to be welcoming and providing refreshments if possible. It is worth remembering that Ride and Stride takes place during Heritage Open Days so even more reason for churches to be open to all visitors.
- Ensuring that local churches have a sign-in sheet available on the day for participants to record their visit. If it is not possible for a church to be open then ask them to pin up a sign-in sheet on their door.
- Encouraging stewards to be around on the day. Each church will benefit from having people around to assist in the signing-in and by providing refreshments. Church stewards can get sponsorship for the number of hours they are staffing their church They can adapt the sponsor forms accordingly.
Forms, Resources and Support available
- Posters and sponsor forms and sign in sheets will be sent to you in hard copy. For full information please look at the full local organisers briefing on the website and return the order form at end (just send an email with your order).
- In addition, all the necessary resources are available for downloading from our website.
If you have further questions please contact the County Coordinator (Gina Dowding) 07501 460374 or send an email to rideandstride@ctfc.org.uk
